Nyjah Takes Barcelona!

It comes as no surprise that Stance Punk & Poet Nyjah Huston Wins the first Street League of the season in Barcelona! “I always tend to put myself in the most challenging situations when it comes to winning Street League finals. This was one of the gnarliest, most nerve racking situations I’ve ever been in, … Continue reading Nyjah Takes Barcelona!

Stance @ SxSW

SXSW brings alot of out of towners, but what do the locals like to do? Here's our top 5 Uncommon Things to do OUTSIDE of SXSW.

1. Heartbreaker Banquet
There is not better thing to do outside of SXSW than Heartbreaker Banquet. Hosted at Willie Nelson’s ranch in Luck, Texas, there is no better way to break out of the SXSW mode. With an array of Punks and Poets, live art, amazing music, and nothing but good vibes, heartbreak is the last thing on everyone's mind at this musical oasis.

2. The Yellow Rose
Austin has a lot to offer at night other than 6th Street. One of the more unusual offerings is The Yellow Rose. Known as the “#1 spot for adult entertainment” in Texas, this flower is ready to bloom into your world. Just stay away from the buffet.

3. Franklin’s BBQ
It’s no surprise that BBQ would be one of the top destinations when visiting Texas, but this place still deserves its own callout. Ask any Austin-ite and they’ll tell you there’s BBQ, and then there is Franklin BBQ. People line up hours in advance of Franklin’s opening to secure a spot at this “table”, but even then they aren’t guaranteed. Franklin’s opens at 11 am, and only stays open as long as needed to sell out. People get there as early as 6 am, so whip out your lawn chairs and your card games and prepare to stake it out.

4. Museum of Weird
Austin’s unofficial slogan is “Keep Austin Weird”, and the only way to make it more un-official is with a museum.  Shrunken heads, freaks of nature, the gang’s all here. This place is open 7 days a week, so there’s no excuse not to get your dose of weird while in Austin.

5. Chicken shit bingo at The Little Longhorn Saloon
Nothing screams Texas more than chicken shit bingo. At The Little Longhorn Saloon, the beer is cold, the dancing is crowded, and the bingo smells like a chicken coop. Sunday is the day to see all the shit “go down”.

How do you like to spend your time in Austin while at SxSW? Let us know with a comment below.

Stance x 4th and Bleeker

“I'd like to make a collection of socks about things you might find in a gas station south of the border” –  Alexandra Spencer of 4th & Bleeker

There are women who wear clothes, and there are women who have style (make no mistake: there’s a difference).  Our Punk and Poet Alexandra Spencer is most definitely the latter.  The hugely popular 4th and Bleeker fashion blogger, model, photographer, and Stance muse is our favorite multihypenate, commanding a style as complex and unexpected as her spring collaboration styles, three sexed up desert staples re-cut and re-imagined by what you might run into south of the border.

From left: hot snakes, flame, snakeskin, scorpion, bandana (hot snakes and flame available April 2015)

Kick up the dust in the cool blue Bandana, the sexy Snakeskin, and kitschy Scorpion all available in Stance’s Everyday cut perfect for hitching a ride to who knows where. Buy the whole 4th & Bleeker Collection here

New Larry Bird NBA Legends Sock

With the NBA's big All-Star week upon us, it's only right to celebrate something great.

To that end, we bring you a new Larry Bird legend sock.

This isn't just any Bird sock, though. The image on it is from 1988's annual All-Star Three-Point Shootout, when a cool, confident and cocky Bird won without ever taking off his warmup jacket. Not a bad way to capture a third straight Contest. #swag

It's a great time to be able to commemorate Bird's unforgettable All-Star moment. After all, Saturday night's Three-Point Shootout, which features a slew of awesome shooters, is already being deemed classic.

So, why not take in a potentially memorable night while wearing definitively memorable socks? After all, if Bird didn't take off his shirt to shoot the least you can do is wear his socks to watch! Check out the NBA Legends Collection and the new Larry Bird Legend sock here.

Mark Oblow – The Wallride Project

Sao Paulo, Brazil: the world’s 12th largest city by population, the most recent location of the FIFA World Cup, and the home of Ale Jordão's Wallride Project. A simple corner of about 150x15ft of wall space, the public activation offers all Sau Paulians access to art, free of charge. Last September, our Punk and Poet Mark Oblow was invited to douse the walls with his artwork, marking him as the 6th artist to exhibit and first non-Brazilian to be a part of the project. Check out Oblow as he dresses the mural, roams the Favelas, and skates mini bowls throughout this South American metropolis and buy Mark Oblow's collaboration sock here.

Love ‘em or Leave ‘em

The Hey Lover & Battlefield sock

We’re not going to candy coat this one: If you really want to show some love this Valentine’s Day, shelve the flowers and boxed chocolate and treat them to some socks instead. Nothing sends them head over heels like these nice and naughty styles that send a crystal clear message: Love Em’ or Leave Em’. They’ll help you lay it all out on the line—no matter what happens, at least your feet will always be feeling the love.

Stance @ Sundance Film Festival

A little snow and icy conditions never stopped us from having a good time, and this past week at Sundance Film Festival was no exception. Our crew packed up and brought along a band of muses, stylists, Punks and Poets, and socks to Flight Boutique on the legendary Main Street in Park City, Utah for a unique styling experience with SOREL boots to show the snow bunnies of Sundance how to rock out with their socks out. Our Style Studio, fueled by our cocoa and cider bar, brought by some exuberant characters all set to the sweet tunes of Lolawolf (aka Zoë Kravitz) and Punk and Poet Dorothy. Needless to say, it was a match made in snowy paradise. See all the fun we had after the jump:
